So pretty much since it has come out and captivated the world, I have been saying that I would do an episode talking about Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Well, the game has been out for over a month and a half now, and I have yet to record the episode. At this point, I have decided that I am not going to put out an episode talking about the masterpiece that is BotW. There are three main reasons to this.
1. I honestly feel like I haven't played the game enough. I beat the main story, but didn't even fully complete the map, have only done about a third of the shrines (mini-dungeons) and almost no side quests. I feel like I haven't played enough of the after game/side game to give a full opinion about it, and that's the part that many are saying is the best part of this game.
2. I've been delayed so long at this point that I feel like my words won't have any value. Which is compounded by the fact that I don't feel like I have enough to say; basically a too-little-too-late kind of thing.
3. This is a hard game to recommend. More people have copies of this game for a Switch than people who actually have the console. It's Legend of God Damn Zelda. People love Zelda more than they love their Grandmas. People are going to buy this game regardless of what I say, and even if I trashed the game (which I wouldn't do) people would still buy it.
So, no BotW episode. Bottom line, you should play this game. Whether you go out and buy a Switch for it, or just play it on a Wii U, it's worth it. It's not my favorite Zelda, but it's up there. You will have a hell of a time.
I apologize for doing this. For those who we're looking forward to my thoughts on this, I am sorry. It's also pretty daunting when you try to piece together talking about a game that many are calling the greatest game ever. It's crazy.
Anyway, expect another QC episode by the end of April. I'm not sure exactly what I will be talking about; I have a couple idea's in the works.
Thank you all for understanding, and I'll see you next time.
